Thanks, ladies! I had to reset password..again..to reply
Unfortunately the horrendous traffic caused us to miss the first hour plus of James. Thought for sure I missed all of him but somehow still got to hear four or five songs. I wondered if it started on time which was seven as he was still singing at 820 when we arrived. Thankful for that and he sounded wonderful as always!A different experience from the seats I won. Spoiled, I guess, by being closer for all his concerts, but the seats were better than I thought they would be..and free.. so no complaints. First time seeing the Eagles and they were great. The whole experience seemed a bit surreal. Relied on the big screen from a distance and I didn’t quite feel like I was really there . Eagles sounded so perfect, almost so perfect it didn’t seem live! My friend wanted to get a head start on the departing crowd, and strangely I was ok with that as I was worried a bit about having enough breath to make it up the steps. Toting an oxygen machine these days. We had tried UBER for the first time. Ended up waiting 2 hrs. for a ride, standing on the street corner until 1 30 am,so we should have stayed for the end. The Eagles were playing Hotel California as we were leaving.Nice to hear that one! I wondered if James returned to the stage with them at the end and what I might have missed.I have never left a concert until the last note is sung! All in all it was a crazy time. DC traffic is always terrible, but exceptionally bad for a Thursday night heading into DC as opposed to dealing with southbound rush hour traffic. It took 6 hrs. from home to the stadium and should have taken under 2! I left home at 2 30 and got there at 8 20..disappointing. Glad I went and thankful for the tix, but not quite the usual experience and nothing noteworthy to mention as far as a review, sorry, other than I loved seeing/hearing James as always….all about the “adventure” getting there and back!

It was funny. Certainly gained respect for al
l who have to use them, especially for those who can do it with some control!

Those Walmart scooters…more difficult than they look. Accelerate fast..stop and start wildly. Crazy. I was hell- on- wheels when I tried to use one years ago following a broken leg! Kept knocking clothes off racks! I get it.

So sorry to hear about the need for 3 surgeries. Surely 12 days was pretty soon to attempt a concert. I know that spinal stenosis is a pain, literally. My husband has it and finally agreed to using a walker in the house. He’s been using a rollator when having to go out.Great difficulty with steps. I think our days in a two-story house are numbered. He certainly can’t mow the yard so sounds like for the most part you are functioning better than he is.He also has Parkinson’s so that might be part of his difficulties as well.
Best wishes..keep on keepin’ on. Hope you have a few more concerts in your future.Maybe a wheelchair would help next time. They have things called transport chairs which are less bulky than a wheelchair. Might make a big difference for you for distance walking. You can even rent wheelchairs from a medical supply store/home health store for a night or two at a nominal cost.Good Luck!

The last one? I bet you can’t stick to that plan!
I have to lug an oxygen machine now and it has a short battery life. Can’t walk far with hip pain now, especially when having to carry the heavy machine. Sometimes I feel my concert-going days are over too.
I got tix to Elton John in September and not sure if my oxy machine will last long enough for everything involved, just getting to he venue. Fingers crossed.
The amazing thing is that we are slowing down and good old James is still able to keep up a rigorous schedule and the energy required to perform night after night.Good for him!

I don’t think I’ve ever heard that CG..”takes both rain and sunshine to make a rainbow”. I like it!!

Hi Cowgirl! Welcome Back! I just had to reset my password. I had trouble doing it a couple of years ago, then forgot my password a month later, so I’ve been gone awhile as well. I hope you are doing well.
    Take care.

Thanks, Barb. Glad you’re still alive! I was hospitalized last Oct. for breathing difficulty.Blood work showed that I had had a heart attack..glad I didn’t know it at the time!A stent was placed and due to that and being on blood thinners I could not have surgery for at least a year. During a CAT scan of my chest, a “porcelain gallbladder” showed up. Those have more of a chance of being cancerous, but I’ve had to wait to do anything about it. Saw the surgeon this week. He wanted to research porcelain gallbladders. The risk of surgery with needing oxygen full time might outweigh the benefit. If he seems to think surgery is a big risk, well..not what I want to hear!I would definitely put things off to see James..but if it is determined in October that I need surgery I would need to do it by the end of the year since I have finally met my deductible this year! So..in the end, it’s financial reasons. more than health, causing me to possibly miss a concert. No sense incurring the exorbitant out of pocket cost by waiting until the new year/new deductible. I just hope to know any dates before I might have to schedule.

It does seem like we’d know if there was a fall leg, but he did do some shows in Nov. a couple of years ago (saw him in Richmond), and there were not any east coast shows on his summer tour..VA, MD,DC..not even NC, so..fingers crossed that it will/can happen! Here’s hoping for good news for many reasons in the fall!

Sheesh..I write too much! Take care and glad you are doing well.

Thanks, Bridget. This post is not on this topic, but help needed. I have not been able to post here for ages. I forgot my password and after many efforts to reset it, I gave up. Nothing seemed to work when I tried to log on. Today I got this far..yay! It lets me reply, but I can’t find anywhere to click to make a new post. I’m confused, but glad for the chance to post as a reply today. I like keeping up with all of the tour news. It seems like the activity here has really slowed down, but I bet that many others haven’t been able to get in either. Fingers crossed here for a fall leg of this year’s tour. Nothing yet for VA or DC. However, if in the Fall I’m not sure I can attend as I need to have gallbladder surgery in November. Hope it all works out. I can’t imagine not seeing him on this tour!
