JT will appear on the Montreal, Canada-based TV series “Star Academy”.
Performances from JT’s “One Man Band” DVD will air on PBS television in March as part of the network’s pledge drive. We’ll have more details later.
On November 29 PBS will air the February 6, 2006 benefit concert where JT was honored as the “MusiCares Person of the Year.” Performers include JT, Jackson Brown, David Crosby, Sheryl Crow, Dr. John, Carole King, Alison Krauss, Taj Mahal, Bonnie Raitt, Paul Simon, Bruce Springsteen, Sting, and Keith Urban. JT will present the “Album of the Year” award at the February 8 Grammy ceremony, which will be broadcast live at 8 p.m. on CBS. He isn’t expected to perform, but he will perform and be honored as the 2006 MusiCares Person of the Year in a separate star-studded benefit concert on February 6 in Los Angeles. Bruce Springsteen, the Dixie Chicks, Paul Simon, Sting, India Arie, Jackson Browne, David Crosby, Dr. John, Carole King, Alison Krauss, Taj Mahal, Randy Newman, and Bonnie Raitt are also scheduled to perform at the benefit. The MusiCares show won’t be broadcast on TV.
