Just a reminder that the “Gershwin Prize for Popular Song” ceremony will air Wednesday, June 27 at 9 p.m. on most PBS television stations (check your local listings). The star-studded event was held May 23 to honor Paul Simon and includes appearances by JT, Yolanda Adams, Marc Anthony, Dixie Hummingbirds, Jerry Douglas, Art Garfunkel, Alison Krauss, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Lyle Lovett, Stephen Marley, and Buckwheat Zydeco.

JT will perform June 30 on “A Prairie Home Companion At Tanglewood with Garrison Keillor.” The show will air live on NPR radio stations (6 p.m. Eastern, 3 p.m. Pacific) and can also be heard online. JT’s 2006 release, “James Taylor At Christmas” has been nominated for the “Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album” Grammy award. JT has five Grammy awards so far, and the winners for this year will be announced February 10th, 2008.

The new Criterion Collection release of “Two Lane Blacktop,” the 1971 Monte Hellman road movie starring JT, Warren Oates, and Dennis Wilson, is now available for pre-ordering from Amazon.com with a release date of this Tuesday, December 11. The two-disc set includes a new interview with JT, a restored digital transfer supervised by Hellman, a Dolby 5.1 soundtrack, two commentaries, outtakes, and the original screenplay.
