JT Will Present Award At Grammys

JT will present the “Album of the Year” award at the February 8 Grammy ceremony, which will be broadcast live at 8 p.m. on CBS. He isn’t expected to perform, but he will perform and be honored as the 2006 MusiCares Person of the Year in a separate star-studded benefit concert on February 6 in Los Angeles. Bruce Springsteen, the Dixie Chicks, Paul Simon, Sting, India Arie, Jackson Browne, David Crosby, Dr. John, Carole King, Alison Krauss, Taj Mahal, Randy Newman, and Bonnie Raitt are also scheduled to perform at the benefit. The MusiCares show won’t be broadcast on TV.


Songwriters Hall of Fame

Cable channel Bravo will air the 2002 induction ceremony of the Songwriters Hall of Fame on October 7 at 8 p.m. Eastern. JT performs a duet of “You’ve Got a Friend” via satellite with the song’s author, Carole King. JT was inducted back in 2000.
