    Hey y’all,

On Monday night, I played to a SRO crowd of JT fans (who were going to the show on the 4th) at The Lion’s Den in Stockbridge, MA. I always try to book one of the nights before his Tanglewood shows because it gives me an excuse to play a bunch of his songs, like “On the 4th of July” and “Belfast to Boston”, in addition to the hits. Because of JT, I had an extremely successful (and lucrative!) evening. I bring this up not simply to blow my own horn (which I’m quite capable of doing), but because I wonder if someone of JT’s stature can ever be truly cognizant of the breadth of his influence. Here I was, making a living singing his songs (along with The Beatles’, Paul Simon’s, etc. and my own) and then someone on the other side of the globe was most likely doing the same thing. Is it possible for him to grasp how extensive his reach is!
