Hey JT fans!
Mud Slide Slim and the Blue Horizon is my favorite JT album, and Mud Slide Slim is my favorite song from that album. I’ve always wondered about some of the lyrics:
I wanna thank Jimmy, Jimmy, John, Nick and Laurie, the No Jets Construction
for setting me down a homestead on the farm
Who were they? Were they real? What the story behind this? Anyone know?
Thanks!
Brian
They are explained in Carly Simon’s memoir as a collection of guys who helped build James’s “shack” on Martha’s Vineyard that eventually became their home and seems to be her place nowadays. There’s a sort of picture of some of them immediately preceding chapter 17. As an insight to another side of JT and just a really good read then “boys in the trees” By Carly Simon is a great read.
Wow, that’s great info! Thanks! I’ll try to get the book.
